We partnered with Redrow Homes to deliver affordable housing at Caddington Woods in Central Bedfordshire. The land was once a warehouse for the storage of vehicles manufactured at the General Motors plant.

The development will provide 325 homes split between two hamlets, in a landscape of 35 acres of woodland and open land for amenity spaces, these areas will be managed by Caddington and Slip End Community Trust (CaSE), which are a registered charity run by four trustees made up of the developer, the original land owner, a parish counsellor and a local counsellor.

Phases two – five of the development are part of a Section 106, where 30% of the neighbourhood is affordable, of which 46 homes are owned by CaSE Community Trust to fully fund landscape maintenance and replacement of a multi-use games and play area and fund a bespoke bus service.

Catalyst has delivered 32 affordable homes at Caddington Woods – 20 for affordable rent and 12 for shared ownership. Construction began in November 2018, and reached practical completion in March 2020.
