‘You’re Hired’ employability course launches in Oxford

By August 23, 2017August 3rd, 2021No Comments

This summer we launched our first ever free employability course – supporting people with getting ready for work. For two hours a week over a six week period, 10 local people received training and advice to equip them in finding work in and around Oxford.

As part of our new neighbourhood strategy, the course provides tips and support to boost confidence – developing individual skills, practical support including CV advice and interview practice – before connecting attendees to local vacancies.
The course is relaxed and flexible – consisting of group discussions and verbal teaching with limited writing required and no IT skills necessary.

You’re Hired course attendee, Medhat said: ‘The course was a step ahead in my life and was prepared and presented by professionals. I’ve learnt many new things that have helped me in improving my career -it is a life changing course. I want to pick this chance to thank Matt from Catalyst and Sasha from Abingdon& Witney College for all their help and support.’

Of the 10 people who attended, one person has already secured a job offer, three other attendees have interviews scheduled for roles and the remaining attendees are pursuing voluntary opportunities to further boost their skills, experience and confidence.

The next ‘You’re Hired’ Oxford employability course will begin on Monday 18, September – if you’re interested in enrolling in outer London, you can find out more by contacting Matt Renshaw on 07710 853193 or email
