Summer programme success at our centres

By September 19, 2018No Comments

This year 386 young people took part in our summer programme held across our centres in Reading, Oxford and west London. Activities included arts and crafts, sports sessions, music workshops and more.

Our summer programme would not have been made possible without the support from local partners and our 37 volunteers who helped staff with delivering the jam packed schedule of activities.

Plans are already underway for our 2019 programme – stay tuned for more on this.

Windmill Park showcases local young people’s talent
At our Windmill Park Community Centre based near Chevy Road in Southall, 41 young people took part in 10 activities over the four weeks including multi-sports, clothes customising and a balloon art workshop.

As part of the programme, the kids also visited Sky TV studios for a tour and the opportunity to produce a mock news story. Day trips also included a fishing trip and an energy-filled visit to Oxygen – a trampoline experience.

Not only is the summer programme an opportunity to have fun and try new things, one attendee told us about the difference it had make to his confidence and how it had given him an opportunity to make new friends on the estate.

We have events running at our community centres every week for people of all ages. To find out more, visit your local community centre or call us on 0300 456 2099.
