Kickstart in the community is a new government funded initiative to help young people aged 16-24, on Universal Credit gain valuable work experience. If you fit this criteria, you could apply for our newly created paid six-month job placement as a Community Connector.
What will a Community Connector do?
Our new Community Connector group of young people will work alongside our Communities team, using their local knowledge to help improve services, organise community projects, and boost community spirit and wellbeing.
Working in a small team, our Community Connectors will learn through conversations, finding out what’s important and helping take action to deliver local improvements.
Is there any training?
All Community Connector roles will be a six- a month paid work placement.
Each Community Connector will be assigned an employment and skills advisor to help them develop their career aspirations and individual action plans. You’ll be able to attend relevant employability workshops too.
All project specific training will be provided, as well as equality, diversity and inclusion, health and safety and basic first aid training too.
