We are deeply saddened by the recent devastating fire at Grenfell Tower, and we offer our condolences and sympathies to the people, families and communities affected by the tragedy.
Although the cause of the fire has not been established, it is understandable that our customers will want to know about the fire safety arrangements in our own blocks. We want to reassure our customers that their safety is our priority.
We take the risk of fire very seriously and have measures in place to keep our customers as safe as possible. All of our properties that have shared areas (such as stairwells and corridors), are regularly checked, inspected and assessed for fire risks. We work with the fire authorities to ensure that our buildings and procedures meet all statutory requirements and regulations.
In the light of this tragedy, we have already started to review our fire safety advice and practices to make sure they are as robust as possible. We will also make sure we respond to any recommendations in response to the awful fire at Grenfell Tower quickly and thoroughly.
We will continue to share regular information with you to help keep you safe.
