An update on services in Bedford and Hounslow following the new Covid-19 variant
The government has announced new guidance for boroughs including Bedford and Hounslow following an increase in cases of the new variant.
We continue to monitor our services in our communities, with the safety and wellbeing of customers and colleagues remaining our top priority.
At the moment, we’ll be pausing all non-essential indoor home visits in Bedford and Hounslow such as indoor estate inspections and tenancy checks. We understand the inconvenience and we’ll be closely monitoring progress to move back to a normal service.
All repairs will continue as normal.

Our teams will maintain the highest standards, following government advice, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and socially distancing.

1 June – An update from Bedford Borough Council on surge testing
If you’re a resident living in Bedford, you may be aware that Covid-19 rates are rising and variants of concern have been detected in the borough.
We’re supporting Bedford Borough Council to let residents know that enhanced testing is now available for people who live or work in the Kingsbrook, Cauldwell and Queens Park areas of Bedford.
