It is with great sadness we share the sad news that Dave Smith, Chair of the Catalyst residents Disability Forum and the Michael Gaynor Residents Association, passed away on 19 July 2016. He leaves behind his wife Yvonne and three children, Paul, Helen and Jody.
Dave was a Catalyst tenant for 36 years and in that time he worked in partnership with staffing teams across the organisation to help us develop our service delivery. He was a member of the Catalyst Residents Federation; he was involved in the Evaluation of our Chief Executive Officer Rod Cahill and recruitment of Environmental Services staff last year.
He worked on the procurement of contracts with the Repairs and Maintenance teams and scrutiny of Catalyst services. His tireless contribution to involvement has led to two TPAS accreditations and two awards for work in scrutiny. Dave’s death is deeply saddening to many staff and residents.
The family has asked that we do not send them flowers. Instead, it is their wish that, should people want to give a donation to charity, could they please give to:
Dave was a wonderful, husband, father, colleague and friend to so many, and will be sorely missed.
