What sort of checks are done before a mutual exchange can go ahead?

Mandatory checks are carried out on:

  • The tenancy type.
  • If there any rent arrears.
  • Whether the size of property meets the needs of the persons/family looking to move in.
  • Any action taken for anti-social behaviour or breach of tenancy.
  • If the property is adapted for any kind of disability.
  • A home visit is undertaken to identify any repairs.
  • Any other considerations in grounds under the Housing Act / Localism Act.
