Grenfell Tower: six months on

Six months since the terrible fire at Grenfell Tower, our thoughts remain with the people, families and communities affected by the tragedy. We have the greatest admiration for the way the local community pulled together to coordinate vital support.

Following the fire, we began a thorough review of our own properties to be certain we’ve taken all the precautions we can to keep our customers safe. Our reviews include carrying out Fire Risk Assessments and inspecting building materials. We began with properties that are six storeys or above, and we’re currently reviewing five-storey buildings. We will then look at four- and three-storey properties. Once the reviews are complete, we write to the residents in each block to share our findings and advice.

In addition, our health and safety team have reviewed all of our policies and procedures, confirming that they comply with national building regulations and British standards.

We continue to work closely and proactively with government and local authorities, and we’ll respond immediately if there’s a change to building regulations and official guidance.
