Become a Community Connector

If you’re aged 16-24 years and are currently claiming Universal Credit you can apply for a paid six-month job placement as a Community Connector.

The government-funded Kickstart scheme helps young people gain valuable work experience which can be used for future career opportunities.

What does a Community Connector do?

As a Community Connector, you’ll work alongside our Communities team using your local knowledge to consult with customers to find out what’s important to them and help take action to improve services, organise and deliver community projects, and boost community engagement and wellbeing.

Is there any training?

Throughout your placement, we’ll support you in developing your career aspirations and individual goals and provide any project-specific training you may need.

We’ll also provide equality, diversity and inclusion, health and safety, and basic first aid training.

How to apply

We’re working with our local Job Centres to recruit Community Connectors.
