Grab A Grant helps Kensington resident get laptop

Britney-BatousoiOur Better Futures Grant has awarded Britney Batousoi £200 to buy a laptop which she can use for her school work.

16-year-old Britney, from Kensington, joined our youth project last year because she wanted to take part in additional activities that would help her develop her skills outside of school and which would also boost her confidence.

It was there we noticed that Britney didn’t have computer at her home for her to do homework or assignments on. So together we applied for the Better Futures Grant.

Catalyst Gateway, our community investment team, then awarded Britney £200. With the money Britney bought a laptop which she uses whilst studying for her GCSEs and also for college and job applications.

Britney has also recently started volunteering every Friday after school at the the Homework Club held in the Venture Centre, a community hub in North Kensington.
