We’ve joined forces again with Public Health, Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea (RBKC), to continue delivering the hugely successful Golborne Community Champions Programme. A community-led volunteer programme enabling and empowering local people to help shape and improve health and wellbeing in their community.

The new 5-year programme, co-funded by Catalyst and Public Health RBKC, provides various free accredited training opportunities for local community volunteers. The programme will also help promote key public health campaigns such as Be Clear on Cancer and Diabetes Awareness while delivering an extensive programme of either free or low-cost health and wellbeing activities.

How will it benefit customers in the local area?

Whether you’d like to volunteer or participate in an activity, there is something for everyone to enjoy, from essential oil workshops and meet-and-eat community lunches to adult yoga classes and box fit classes for young people.

Through our continued work and partnership with Public Health RBKC, community partners, local service providers and our customers, we’re confident that the new programme will continue to build on the incredible successes achieved during the first 5-years (2016 – 2021) of the programme.

Let’s look at just some of the fantastic achievements made possible by a dedicated army of community volunteers living in and around the neighbourhood:

• 2,000+ engaged customers
• 220 accredited qualifications
• 750 health and wellbeing activities delivered
• 7,0000+ volunteering hours delivered
• 125 volunteers supported local projects.
