As part of our commitment to relocate existing trees on Wornington Green, Catalyst and our contractors will be carrying out some work this week in order to prepare and move three trees from the Watts House car park to Athlone Garden.

We are hoping to successfully move three trees from the Watts House car park to Athlone Gardens on Friday 19 February. We need to move the trees now before they start to grow again in Spring, as this will give them the best chance of surviving. We have also committed to a comprehensive maintenance programme for the next five years while the trees establish themselves in their new location. We will endeavour to do everything we can to protect the trees but given their age there is no guarantee that even with the maintenance programme that the trees will survive.

Before we can move the trees, our contractors will have to demolish and remove the concrete planters and paving that surround the trees. This work will take place in the days running up to the tree removal and may cause some disruption.

The work should not take more than one day in each area of the site and the hours of work remain 8am to 6pm. For health and safety reasons, Athlone Gardens will be closed all day on 19th February 2021 whilst the works take place. Residents will notice some noise during the work as it will involve power tools and machinery.

If you have any questions about these works, please call us on 0300 456 2099 and ask to speak to a member of the Wornington Green team.
