Throughout March, we’re offering free financial support webinars to all Catalyst customers who may need some additional assistance with budgeting, money-saving, accessing funding and discounts and more.

We’ve partnered with adult education provider – WEA, social enterprise – Pocket Power, and financial advisor, Sacha Dsane, from Financial Harmony, to help you find out more about:

  • Setting and living with a budget
  • Money-saving tips
  • Applying for funding and discounts on utility bills
  • Help with accessing services and organisations if you’re struggling to cope.

Sonal and Noor from our Advice and Wellbeing team will also be hosting webinars to help you use our new financial support calculators and understand more about Universal Credit and social security, tax and benefits.

All the sessions are free, and you don’t need to register in advance. Come along on the day using the Zoom links and meeting IDs below.

Each session involves a brief talk followed by a question-and-answer session, meaning you get involved if you like or just come along and listen.

  • Living with a budget, hosted by WEA

In this webinar, a representative from WEA will outline what a budget is and why it’s essential to help you manage your money better. They’ll provide online tools to help you create and manage your budget.

  • Money-saving tips, hosted by Financial Harmony

In this session Sacha from Financial Harmony will offer you simple and effective ways to help ease the pressure of the increased cost of living through the use of a spending plan. She’ll also offer some additional money saving tips and ideas.

  • Money and utility bills saving tips, hosted by Pocket Power

A representative from Pocket Power will use this hour session to explain utility bill jargon and technical terms, help you find out more about applying and accessing the best discounts on your utility bills, and better understand the options available to you.

  • Finding help when you’re struggling, hosted by WEA

This webinar is for anyone who feels like they’re struggling and wants to learn more about debt advice, how to access food banks and the organisations that can offer you emergency support and assistance.

In this session Sonal will be show you how you can use our online tools to create your own budget and check whether you are receiving the right benefits.

  • Introduction to Universal Credit and social security, hosted by Noor from our Advice and Wellbeing team

In this session Noor will discuss the elements of Universal Credit. This is includes, how it’s made up, what housing costs are covered, how you are paid and how to claim.

He’ll also discuss the social security benefits that are not means tested, such as the new style Job Seekers Allowance and Employment Support Allowance, Disability Living Allowance for children, Personal Independence Payment for work age adults and Attendance Allowance for pensioners.
