The Lancaster Estate Resident Association (LERA) and members of the local Southall community have raised over £5000 for NHS Charities Together (Covid–19 Response) and Hope for Southall Street Homeless by taking part in the recent 2.6 national challenge.
52 members of the community – residents and businesses alike – took part in the event by running, cycling or walking. The event helped raise money while sharing local history and celebrating the strong community spirit in the area. And all while making sure social distancing guidelines were followed throughout.
This is another excellent example of our local communities coming together to show thanks to all the key workers and volunteers that have been stepping up during the Covid-19 pandemic.
All proceeds raised will be split 50/50 between both charities, who will benefit from this fantastic contribution.
You can watch their wonderful video showing everyone who got involved on the day, and all the local buildings and landmarks along the way.
