Southall Day Centre Milap Branch moves to Sahaara Court

The Milap branch of Southall Day Centre is moving to bigger and better facilities at Sahaara Court, a nearby sheltered housing scheme, from the end of August.

The new address will be Sahaara Court, 99 Lancaster Road, Southall UB1 1AP.

The last day at the Milap branch in Shackleton Road will be 23 August. Some services, including health and well-being activities, will be available from 29 August at Sahaara Court. There will be limited advice services available until 18 September, when the centre fully opens at the new building. Opening hours at Sahaara Court will be: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. (The centre on 20 Western Road will be open 7 days a week).

Sahaara Court is a five-minute walk from Southall Broadway, served by the 207, 427, and 607 buses.

Founded in 1978 and based in the London Borough of Ealing, Southall Day Centre helps over 2,000 people in west London every year. It operates from two sites and its main areas of work are:

  • Health and wellbeing: Services and activities for people with disabilities and those with long term health conditions, carers, older people and those suffering from social exclusion.
  • Advice and information: Help with claiming benefits and other entitlements through its AQS accredited advice service.
  • Learning classes: English and language and other classes that provide opportunities for personal development and improved employability.

Southall Day Centre is a registered charity and is associated with the Catalyst Housing Charitable Trust. It is also commissioned to deliver services by Ealing Council and the NHS Ealing Clinical Commissioning Group and is a partner in the Ealing Disability Unite and Support4Carers Ealing consortiums.
