Gas and carbon monoxide safety in your home

By December 7, 2020August 5th, 2021No Comments

By law, we must check all gas appliances in our rented homes, every year, to make sure they’re safe. Throughout lockdown we have continued to undertake these free gas safety inspections to all our homes.

Your annual gas safety inspection
Your annual gas safety inspection is essential in making sure your home is gas safe and to reduce the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

If your annual gas inspection is due, our contractors will contact you directly to arrange for this to be undertaken in the usual way. Your appointment will take around 40 minutes.

What to do if you think your carbon monoxide alarm isn’t working
We recommend that you test your smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms weekly by pressing the ‘test’ button.

If the alarm does not sound, please contact us so that we can repair or replace it.

Helping to keep you safe
When an engineer visits your home, they’ll follow our Covid-19 safety guidelines throughout their visit. Visit our repairs and maintenance FAQs if you’re feeling uncertain about an upcoming appointment.

If you need to postpone your gas safety inspection because you’re self-isolating, please contact us to rearrange another appointment.

Contact us
