We’re working with the community at Friary Park to develop some initiatives to make the area an even better place to live.
So on Saturday 8 April, we hosted an event with the Friary Park Residents’ Steering Group, to explore what residents want from the area.
We met people of all ages, including families and young adults. They told us about the services they already use, and what else we could offer that would make these even better. They also had some great ideas about how to use a community space.
But it wasn’t all talk – there was room for some fun as well! Residents enjoyed massages, and a buffet from local Caribbean and Polish restaurants.
There was face-painting and balloon modelling for the kids, and even a go-kart track! For teenagers and young adults, there was a T-shirt spraying workshop and a music production bus.
After taking part in the consultation, visitors were given a ticket to enter a prize draw, with a tablet computer and five Easter eggs up for grabs in both the adults’ and children’s categories.
