As National Volunteers’ Week gets underway on Monday 1 June, we couldn’t be prouder of our local communities for lending a helping hand during these challenging times.
Volunteers’ Week is a chance to celebrate and say thank you for the contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK. With so many of our customers pulling together during the coronavirus pandemic, it’s more important than ever for us to recognise and support volunteers.
Counting on volunteer help
We work with volunteers on reviewing our services, to tell us what they think is good, and more importantly, what they think we could do better.
While doing this valuable work for Catalyst our volunteers are improving their own prospects for employment, as well as sharing essential skills and gaining great experiences across the community.
One way that our customers can get involved is through our local residents’ groups. These groups work with us, and other local service providers to represent the views of their local areas. If you get involved with a residents’ group, you also have the chance to develop confidence, boost your self-esteem and improve skills.
Opportunities to volunteer
There are lots of ways to volunteer at Catalyst, from helping us test out new ideas, to running youth club sessions.
We want to make these positions beneficial for volunteers, including training and a great experience that could help with things like employment.

Our commitment to volunteering
Our colleagues are already among the most dedicated of volunteers, giving their time generously to countless good causes. As an employer, Catalyst is committed to supporting all degrees of voluntary activity. We offer two days volunteering leave between April and March each year and encourage our colleagues to take advantage of this.
