David is a chartered surveyor with 15 years’ experience in the London development market. He joins from Transport for London where he led on several major development projects. In his new role David will lead on all aspects of St Ann’s New Neighbourhood and is currently leading on the planning application work and helping the team consult with the local community. David will report into Richard Smith, Managing Director for New Homes (London) and he will work alongside the London leadership team.

Catalyst was announced in December 2020 as the GLA’s development partner for the redevelopment of the site adjacent to St Ann’s Hospital, with a planning application expected in 2022. Catalyst’s proposals for the 18-acre site include over 900 homes, 60% of which will be affordable, as well as a range of community and commercial spaces, and a three-acre garden at its heart.

Catalyst has held four separate consultation events with the community over the last month, with around 200 people from the local area taking part. They will also host a second workshop, Thursday 29 July from 4.00pm to 8.00pm at the Chestnuts Community Centre. Local residents can register to their interest by visiting the project website.

Richard Smith, Managing Director for New Homes (London) at Catalyst, said, “It’s great that David has been able to join us and take on St Ann’s New Neighbourhood in this early stage of the project. David is an experienced and well-respected development professional, and I’m confident he will play a vital role in delivering this new community at St Ann’s.”

David said, “I have worked alongside Catalyst in the past and have always been impressed by its people and values. I’m extremely excited to join the team and to take on this role leading on such an important project, which is a great opportunity for Haringey and London. I look forward to working with all the stakeholders that are interested in this project, as well as our partners and my new colleagues.”
