Latest funding award sees Gateway charity top £1 million

Catalyst Gateway can today announce it has won its third major piece of funding this financial year with an award of just under £600,000 from the Big Lottery Fund. The funding will provide services through a variety of local partners to local people in Ealing to improve people’s financial know-how. We will use a series of measures including individual mentoring and group projects such as “Come Dine With Me” – style meal clubs.

This new award means that Catalyst Gateway will top the £1 million mark in external funding awards it has helped win this financial year. Earlier this summer, the charity was the lead organisation on a partnership awarded almost £500,000 from the European Social Fund (ESF) to provide a jobs and skills programme in Ealing which aims to provide 100 sustained jobs and 200 work placements.

Catalyst Gateway is delivering the Youth Contract to young people aged 16 and 17 as part of the Government’s flagship programme in North and South London on a payment by results basis. The Youth Contract is a service delivering supporting young people who are not in education, employment or training to re-engage them in learning new skills and get them into work. We will mainly be working on projects in Brent and Kensington and Chelsea in London, delivering to the Prime Contractor Prevista.

Catalyst Gateway managing director Leanne Baxter said:

“We are thrilled that Catalyst Gateway has been successful again with a major funding award. Funding such as this is vital in our clear mission is to improve people’s lives and their communities in the areas we serve.

“We recognise that communities are not landlord specific and all the services we offer are open to anyone in the local area.

“By winning this award and hopefully others in the future, we want to solidify Catalyst Gateway as a provider of choice of for employment, skills and social inclusion programmes.”
