Colleague donations will help Catalyst’s chosen charity
Catalyst has pledged to continue its charitable support by announcing its ‘Charity of the Year’.
The Charity of the Year is chosen by colleagues from a shortlist of local and national charities. A business-wide vote revealed The Sick Children’s Trust as the charity of choice.
The Sick Children’s Trust supports families with a seriously ill child in hospital by giving them a warm and comfortable place to stay across its ten ‘Homes from Home’ when they need it most.
Last year, our colleagues raised nearly £2,000 for Cancer Research UK by taking part in a whole range of activities including the 2.6 challenge and the virtual Catalyst Cup sports day.
Sioux Watchorn, Employee Engagement and Wellbeing Partner at Catalyst, said: “We’re very pleased to announce that The Sick Children’s Trust is our new Charity of the Year. It’s a pleasure to be organising fundraising activities throughout the year to help us raise as much as we can for this worthy cause.
“We’re committed to doing all we can to have a positive impact on the lives of people living in our communities and this is just one way we can continue to give something back.”
Chelsea Rowland, Corporate Partnerships Officer at The Sick Children’s Trust, said: “We’re delighted to have been chosen as Catalyst’s Charity of the Year and look forward to working closely with them to raise money to give families a place to stay when their child is in hospital. Due to the impact of the pandemic, we are forecasting a 25-30% loss of income so Catalyst’s support has never been needed more.”
