The importance of home safety checks during the coronavirus outbreak

Home safety checks such as your annual gas and electrical safety inspections are very important for your protection. They help us make sure your safety is not compromised by faulty or unsafe boilers, gas or electrical installations in your home.

We’ve been advised by the government and the Health and Safety Executive that gas and electrical safety inspections remain essential work, that we are obliged to undertake during the current crisis, as your landlord.

If your annual gas and electrical inspection is due, our contractors will contact you directly to arrange for this to be undertaken in the usual way.

 Postponing your appointment if you are self-isolating

If you must postpone an upcoming safety check because you are self-isolating due to coronavirus (Covid-19), please let us know as soon as possible so we can arrange another appointment date for when you are feeling better.

Rebooking your appointment

We will send you a letter confirming the new date and time for your inspection. If this date and time isn’t convenient for you please contact us  so we can rearrange it to a time convenient for you.

What you can do
We recommend that you test your smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms weekly by pressing the ‘test’ button. If the alarm does not sound, please let us know so that we can repair or replace it.
