Monday 29 April – Friday 3 May is national water saving week, with the aim of raising awareness on ways to save water and becoming more energy efficient in our daily lives.
Today is ‘Wash Wednesday’ so we thought we’d highlight some of the ways you can save water while you wash. Did you know, for example, if every household in the UK took just one minute off one shower every day, it would save £215 million on our collective energy bills a year and 660 million litres of water a day? With our population growing by approximately 100,000 people every year, we’ll soon get to a point where there won’t be enough water to go around without damaging the environment.
Thames Water and Affinity Water offer free water saving products for their customers, such as shower timers, save-a-flush bags and ‘Toothy Timers’ for kids. Go to the Thames Water or Affinity Water to find out more about their free products and devices to help you save water, energy and money in your home.
