Catalyst appoints new Group Development Director
Philip Jenkins has been appointed to the post of Group Development Director at housing association Catalyst.
Before joining Taylor Wimpey, Philip was Executive Director of Property and Development at CityWest Homes, during which time he was a non-executive director at Dolphin Living. He has also held senior posts at The John Lewis Partnership, SPAR and Crabtree & Evelyn among others.
Philip will join Catalyst from Taylor Wimpey Central London, where he has been Managing Director since September 2017. Philip is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with a property development career spanning three decades, across both private and not-for-profit sectors.
Catalyst will welcome Philip on 1 July 2019, when he will join the group executive team. Catalyst’s planned merger with Aldwyck will take place in early May.
Philip said: “I am thrilled to be joining Catalyst just at the time when it is due to complete its merger with Aldwyck.
“Both businesses are already successful developers of new homes, but the merged business, with the considerable talent and experience that will bring together, will create new opportunities to become a developer of significant scale and capability.
“I look forward to joining the team as the business begins its journey on this exciting next chapter of growth.”
Ian McDermott, Catalyst Chief Executive, said: “I’m delighted that Phillip will be complimenting the Catalyst group executive team with his considerable expertise in developing high quality homes.
“Philip is not only equipped to do this but shares our commitment and drive to build more homes and create environments where people want to live. Philip will lead on our ambition to build up to 1,300 homes each year, following full integration with Aldwyck, with 75% of these for either social and affordable rent or affordable home ownership.
“I’m also very pleased that Philip clearly brings an energy and commitment to improve our new and future customers’ experience.’
Merger with Aldwyck
Catalyst entered merger talks with Aldwyck in September 2018. Both boards have agreed the merger and work is ongoing for Aldwyck to join Catalyst as a subsidiary early in the financial year 2019/20, with a full merger taking place as soon as is practical after that.OTES:
