Gateway help Havelock residents build their skills with apprenticeships

Havelock apprenticesCatalyst Gateway – our community development team – have helped five Havelock residents to find apprenticeships in the building industry, learning plumbing, bricklaying and other skills.

Four of the apprentices are working on the Havelock regeneration project in Ealing, while another is working on our St Bernard’s Gate development in Hanwell.

As well as plumbing and bricklaying, the apprentices are also learning dry-lining, carpentry, and labouring.

Before starting work, the apprentices attended a three-day course at Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College to get a Construction Skills Certification Scheme card. This card proves that you have the required training and qualifications to work on a construction site.

Eddie, who is providing labouring support to several contractors at Havelock said:  “I am enjoying the opportunity to be doing something and this is a start into getting into painting and decorating.”

Catalyst Gateway helps our residents find a career that suits them, look for training courses, and apply for jobs.
