Lancaster Road residents at One for community festival
Outdoor cinema came to Southall as the grand finale of a fantastic day of information, free activities and fun for Catalyst residents.
Activities for all ages included creative graffiti workshops, employment and training opportunities, and advice on how to access Catalyst’s online services.
150 local residents enjoyed the Saturday 13 August evening screening of Disney’s re-make of The Jungle Book. Before the film there was live music with Bhangra legends Channi and Mona Singh.
Channi commented “It was a privilege to be here. Usually you don’t see elderly people enjoying the music and coming out of their homes, but it was fantastic to see everybody here. They waited to see us and we thoroughly enjoyed it, and they thoroughly enjoyed it!”
Organised by Catalyst Housing the event was also supported by local housing providers Westway and Inquilab.
The event was part of a Catalyst initiative to promote the free services and support they can provide to residents in Southall.
