Funding for community projects in East Acton

Ealing Council has launched the East Acton Champions fund to help people who live and work in Acton make it a better place.

The East Acton Champions Fund is a small scale funding scheme that aims to encourage residents and local groups or businesses in East Acton Ward to help make a difference in their neighbourhood. It promotes and supports the delivery of community based projects by helping people make the best use of time and money available to them.

A sum of £10,000 has been allocated through Ealing’s Local Strategic Partnership to help make improvements in the ward. The council will provide between £500 and £2,000 towards the cost of a project that addresses one of the objectives in a list agreed by the East Acton partnership to enhance the area.

The aims of projects are to tackle key environmental issues, to improve the health of local residents, to support social and cultural activities and to deal with local crime problems.

Ealing Council is inviting community groups and organisations to apply for funding that will help turn their ideas into reality. Deadline for applications is 5pm on Monday 16 November 2015.

The fund is open to resident groups, community groups, businesses or public agencies with projects that fall within the East Acton Ward boundary. The winning projects will be announced by the end of February 2016 and must be delivered by March 2017.

Anyone with an interest in East Acton who would like to be part of the town team that was set up to deliver projects and actives in the area can also take this opportunity to sign up to become a member.  The East Acton town team is a partnership of businesses, residents, community groups, public organisations and council officers.
