Comic Relief funds singing and exercise classes

Exercise classes in sheltered housingOak Tree House residents will be getting even fitter thanks to the £500 Catalyst has been awarded from Comic Relief Red Nose.

The money will go towards providing professional singing and armchair exercise classes for up to 20 residents living at the extra care sheltered housing scheme.

The classes were previously being provided by Michael Moran, sheltered housing manager at the scheme. But Michael felt that having a professional deliver the classes would help improve the health and well-being of people taking part.

Oak Tree House’s social club will add another £500 to the grant and Comic Relief will be coming along to the exercise classes in six months time to see how they are going.

We have 16 sheltered housing schemes in London and the south east, which host many activities and social events for older people. Visit the sheltered housing section of our website for more details.
