New lettings policy
We’ve changed our lettings policy so it matches the changes the government made as part of the welfare reforms. We believe this change will help us make sure residents are not housed in homes they cannot afford to rent.
The new policy states:
- Two children under the age of ten will be expected to share
a bedroom regardless of their gender. So for example a boy of nine must share a bedroom with his eight-year-old sister
- Two children under the age of 21 of the same gender will need
to share a bedroom regardless of their age difference. This means two sisters aged nine and sixteen would be expected to share a bedroom
We’ve contacted residents who have already applied for a transfer and are affected by these changes. If we’ve contacted you and you have any questions, please call our allocations team on 0300 456 2099.
If you live outside London and apply for a transfer, your application will be assessed in line with the criteria set out by the local authority of that area.
