Coffee morning at Catalyst raises cash for cancer charity
Over 150 Catalyst residents and colleagues supported MacMillan’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ on 26 September by enjoying coffee, tea and cakes at a coffee morning we hosted at our Ealing office.
So far we’ve raised over £300 at the fundraising event and we’re still counting. The money will go to Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity which helps to improve the lives of cancer sufferers, their families and carers.
And we couldn’t have done it without the help of the Catalyst residents and colleagues who gave up their time to bake the cakes and serve teas and coffees.
The coffee morning was also a great chance for residents to get to know one another, meet our teams and mostly importantly, support a great cause.
West London resident Gwenda Malham said: ‘I came here today because I wanted to support the cancer charity and also because I love cake. I had cancer last year and know how hard it is’.
Catalyst’s Wellbeing Forum and the residents’ Disability Forum organised the coffee morning to help raise awareness of cancer amongst residents and colleagues. Over two million people in the UK are living with cancer and one in three will be diagnosed it during their lifetime.
If you couldn’t make it to a Macmillan coffee morning near you, you can still donate to the charity on the Macmillan website.
