Catalyst Housing Group shortlisted for two Housing Heroes Awards
Two Catalyst Housing Group team members have been shortlisted as Housing Heroes by Inside Housing’s annual awards. South East regional manager David Truesdale has been nominated as Inspirational Leader of the year and housing income team manager Chris Shoubridge is up for Inspirational Mentor of the Year.
David’s nomination recognises his work with the Blackbird Leys estate, where he chairs the Leys Community Development Initiative. 2010 saw his tireless commitment to the estate yield magnificent results, with the award of a £372,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund.
Chris (pictured right with his team) formed a new income recovery team from a group of young people on the Future Jobs Fund scheme. Chris has over 15 years of housing knowledge, and makes the most of his experience by mentoring the FJF participants. After office hours, Chris continues to support his team with CV’s, job applications, and improving their interview techniques.
CHG Chief Executive Rod Cahill said:
“I’m proud of the work our team do to help people build a better future. I’m delighted this fantastic work has been recognised and I wish David and Chris the very best of luck.”
The Inside Housing Housing Heroes 2011 will be announced at a ceremony in London in May.
