Catalyst Housing Group receives silver SHIFT award for sustainable housing
Catalyst Housing Group has been recognised as one of the most environmentally-friendly housing associations in the country in a prestigious sustainability award.
Catalyst was awarded Silver in the highly challenging SHIFT Index 2010, a sustainability benchmark for housing associations; an increase from its Bronze award in 2008. The index was developed with the support of WWF-UK, the Tenant Services Authority, Homes and Communities Authority and the UK Green Building Council.
Companies signing up to be assessed by the SHIFT Index, commit themselves to being measured against a challenging set of targets for reduced carbon emissions, designed to mitigate against climate change and a broad range of environmental impacts.
Rod Cahill, Chief Executive, Catalyst Housing Group said:

Andrew Eagles, Managing Director of Sustainable Homes, secretariat of SHIFT stated: engagement & office practices and are delighted with our silver award.”
“SHIFT provides an independent assessment of sustainability. By having this assessment Catalyst Housing Group is standing head and shoulders above the rest of the sector. They are illustrating how seriously they take the issues of adaptation and mitigation of climate change. A performance of silver is extremely admirable”.
