In what circumstances are you likely to refuse a request for a pet?

We will not normally give permission to customers to keep the following as pets:

  • Wild animals, which have not been domesticated and may cause harm to others.
  • Dangerous breeds or species.
  • Pests, unless domesticated.
  • Pets bred for commercial or fighting purposes, such as livestock and dogs trained to bait other animals.
  • For the purpose of breeding for sale.
  • Dogs that have been banned in the UK
