What is a mutual exchange and how does it work?

A mutual exchange allows you to swap your home with another council or housing association tenant anywhere in the UK. However, you must have lived at your property for a minimum of 12 months before you can apply for a Mutual Exchange. Tenancy exchanges are arranged by the tenants themselves with the help of tenancy exchange websites such as Homeswapper and Locata.
