How long do I have to wait for a property?

There is no set waiting time for a property. Factors that will influence how long you wait include:

  • What priority banding you have been given
  • How many bedrooms you require.
  • The type of properties that you bid for and their availability.
  • Location. eg. street properties are more scarce than estate properties

To improve your opportunity to move you should continue to bid until you secure a suitable offer.

Please be aware that due to the housing crisis affecting the country, there can be a considerable wait for properties. If you are an existing social housing resident, we highly recommend that you look at mutual exchange sites as they offer a much higher success rate.
