What are the valuation requirements for repayment of an equity loan?

If you wish to repay your equity loan, you’ll need to instruct an independent, fully qualified surveyor to value your property.

You can choose any valuer, provided they are RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) approved, and independent, i.e. there is no conflict of interest in the property.

Please refer to the Royal Institution of Charted Surveyors website.

Alternatively we can provide you with a list of valuers in your area. For details, please call  0300 456 2099 and ask to speak to the Home Ownership Approvals Team or email us.

Please note we do not accept valuations carried out by estate agents or on behalf of your or your buyer’s mortgage lender.
