We’re a leading provider of supported housing and floating support in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. In partnership with other support providers, we make a difference to the lives of over 900 people living in our communities.

The purpose of our services

Our services provide a high standard of accommodation and support for adults experiencing mental illness, physical and learning disabilities.

We support individuals to live independently within their community. This can be either in their home or one of our supported schemes.

What you can expect from us

We aim to help residents and floating support customers to maintain their tenancy and independence by adapting the level of support according to individual need, identified through their support plan.

We offer flexible support to help residents prepare for independent living:

Supported housing service

Our supported housing is a mixture of shared and self-contained accommodation, with a varying level of support provided. We offer supported housing across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire for individuals who need:

  •  Mental health support
  • Support with physical disabilities
  • Support with learning disabilities.

Floating support service

Our floating support service is based in Hertfordshire and offers flexible, short-term housing support for around 12 months to people experiencing mental illness.

Our workers are trained to help individuals manage their tenancy and to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle. We house and support customers who experience a variety of complex support needs.

This can include helping them to:

• Manage their money
• Maintain their tenancy
• Attend work or college
• Domestic and lifestyle skills
• Manage health and lifestyle
• Stay safe and secure in their home
• Positive use of their spare time.
• Liaise with external services and agencies.

How to apply for supported or floating support

If you would like to apply for supported housing or floating support with us, please check our eligibility criteria. Referral routes can differ so please check with us before making an application.

Once you’ve checked whether you’re eligible, you can download and complete our supported and floating support application form and email it to our supported housing team at supported.housing@chg.org.uk

Mental health support

– Bedfordshire

Bedford

  • Shakespeare Road
    Located in Bedford, Shakespeare Road is a two-storey converted building containing four one-bedroom self-contained flats.The scheme provides accommodation for four adults with a mental health diagnosis.
  • Angel View
    Located in Bedford, Angel View is a three-storey block of flats that houses eight supported housing residents in one-bedroom self-contained homes.The scheme provides accommodation for eight adults with a mental health diagnosis.

Luton

  • Eynsford Road
    Located in Luton, Eynsford Road is a two-storey block of six self-contained one-bedroom flats with a communal lounge.The scheme provides accommodation and support for six adults with a mental health diagnosis.
  • Marshall Road
    Located in Luton, Marshall Road is a three-storey bock of six self-contained one-bedroom flats with an on-site office and a communal garden.The scheme provides accommodation and support for six adults with a mental health diagnosis.
  • Upper George Street
    Located in Luton, Upper George Street is a three-storey building with four self-contained one-bedroom flats.The scheme provides accommodation and support for four adults with a mental health diagnosis.
  • New Town Street
    Situated in Luton town centre, New Town Street consists of four self-contained one-bedroom bungalows.The scheme provides accommodation and support for four adults with a mental health diagnosis.

– Hertfordshire

Broxbourne

  • Eleanor Cross Road
    Located in Broxbourne, Eleanor Cross Road is a large shared house with
    four rooms, two self-contained flats and an on-site office.The scheme provides accommodation and support for six adults with a mental health diagnosis.
  • Outreach service
    Ten self-contained one-bedroom supported accommodation flats are located throughout Broxbourne.All accommodation provides support for ten adults with a mental health diagnosis.
  • Cadmore Lane
    Located in Cheshunt, Cadmore Lane is a two-storey building containing nine flats with an on-site office and communal lounge.The scheme provides accommodation and support for nine adults with a mental health diagnosis.

Harpenden

  • Hickling Way
    Located in Harpenden Hickling Way is a two-storey building containing eight flats, a communal lounge and laundry room.
  • The scheme provides accommodation for eight adults with a mental health diagnosis.

St Albans

  • Artisan Crescent
    Located in St Albans, Artisan Crescent is a two-storey building containing six flats with a communal lounge and garden.The scheme provides accommodation for six adults adults with a mental health diagnosis.
  • Milligan House
    Located in St. Albans, Milligan House is a large eight-bedroom shared house with two communal lounges, a laundry room, large kitchen, two shared bathrooms and an on-site office.The house also has a separate two-bedroom annex, communal gardens and car parking at the rear of the property. The scheme provides accommodation and support for nine adults with a Mental Health diagnosis.
  • Additional schemes
    A series of ten shared houses and a shared maisonette are also based across St Albans.All schemes provide accommodation for a further 15 adults with a mental health diagnosis.

Welwyn Garden City

  • Cypress Avenue
    Located in Welwyn Garden City, Cypress Avenue is a two-storey building
    containing eight flats, a communal lounge, garden and an on-site office.The scheme provides accommodation and support for eight adults with a
    mental health diagnosis.

Watford

  • Chester Road
    Located in Watford, Chester Road is a two-storey building containing seven flats, communal lounge and garden.The scheme provides accommodation and support for seven adults with a mental health diagnosis.
  • Woodside Court
    Located in Watford, Woodside Court is a two-storey building containing twelve flats with an on-site office, communal lounge and garden.
    The scheme provides accommodation and support for 12 adults with a mental health diagnosis.

Learning disabilities support

Luton

  • Arthur Street
    Located in Luton, Arthur Street is a two-storey building containing six flats and an on-site office.The scheme provides support to six adults with learning disabilities.

Leighton Buzzard

  • Duncombe Drive
    Located near the town centre, Duncombe Drive is a two-storey block of three one-bedroom self-contained flats and one bedsit.The scheme provides accommodation and support for four adults with learning disabilities.

St Albans

  • Russet Drive
    Located in St. Albans, Russet Drive is a two-storey building containing seven flats, a communal garden and an on-site office.The scheme provides accommodation and support for seven adults with
    learning disabilities.

Physical disabilities support

Bedford

  • Hollington
    Located in Bedford, Hollington is a two-storey converted house consisting of five one-bedroom flats and three bedsits.There are also six one-bedroom bungalows within the grounds.The scheme provides accommodation for fourteen adults with physical
    disabilities.

Welwyn Garden City

  • Located in Welwyn Garden City, The White House is a two-storey building containing ten flats. Four of the flats are fully wheelchair accessible.The scheme provides accommodation and support for ten adults with physical and learning disabilities.
