Brent Council chose Catalyst to deliver a phase of the regeneration of South Kilburn. This included building 208 high quality mixed-tenure homes for rent and private sale across two sites.
The new homes replaced the former council-owned properties of Bond House, Hicks-Bolton House, Ely Court and Cambridge & Wells Courts. Construction began in February 2013.
The homes at Falconbrook and Walbrook Courts were completed in March 2015, providing 64 apartments for rent. The homes at Cambridge Avenue, Bristol Walk, Chichester Road and Gorefield Place were completed in October 2015. They provided 144 apartments and two storey duplexes for rent and private sale.
All the homes are now occupied. Feedback from a resident survey captured the overall feeling that most residents liked their new, spacious and warm homes.
The development was engineered by three design guardians who worked closely with Brent Council to create three different and exciting works of architecture. Chichester Road and Gorefield Place were shortlisted for both the RIBA Award 2016 and the RICS Award 2016.
Ely Court won a Regional Design Award in May 2016 from the Royal Institute of British Architects.
