In March 2016, the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust gained outline planning permission for 270 homes on the site. This outline permission set out clear development parameters, including the number of homes, the housing mix, building heights, and highways matters.
Catalyst has since purchased the site from the NHS Trust and is putting together detailed plans for the site, which will be submitted to Oxford City Council in Spring 2017.
These detailed plans fulfil the site’s outline planning permission, including a proposed provision of 50% affordable housing, in line with Oxford City Council policy. The development will feature high quality design and architecture, as well as carefully thought-out landscaping, including open space, children’s play areas and car parking.
Catalyst is also working with local Councillors and the Parish Council to recognise in an appropriate way the burial ground at the northern end of the site. For this reason, Catalyst is proposing to set the housing back from the burial area, which will enable them to offer a plaque and possible seating area to respect those buried there.
Catalyst hosted a public exhibition at Littlemore Village Hall on 16 and 21 January 2017, at which local residents were able to view the plans, speak with members of the project team, and provide feedback.

Over the course of the two sessions, the exhibition attracted over 90 people, and a large number of constructive and helpful comments from residents.
