We’re one of the UK’s leading housing associations – a member of the G15 group, managing over 37,000 homes in London and the Home Counties.
As a traditional housing association our main focus is on delivering social housing, with a proven track record in estate regeneration and creating mixed tenure communities.
As we’re a not-for-profit organisation we reinvest money raised from property sales into developing and maintaining more affordable homes, and plan to invest £1.5 billion over the next 10 years. We have an excellent track record in successfully delivering award-winning major development projects and are proud to receive external recognition for the quality, creative design and our commitment to creating homes and communities people love.
Motivated by our desire to be a leading sustainable housing association, we are proud to continue to help as many people as possible to live in safe, affordable, good-quality housing.
Through our inaugural Sustainable Finance Framework – PDF 13MB, we demonstrate our environmental responsibility, how our activities have a positive impact on people in our communities, as well as a robust governance framework.
The new framework aligns our strategic priorities in sustainability with our funding and financial strategy. Proceeds from the framework will fund a range of sustainable and social projects including retrofitting our existing housing stock, delivering new affordable housing and a wide range of community investment initiatives that secure better futures for households living in social housing.
A Sustainability Review Panel (SRP) has been created to ensure the most suitable eligible projects are selected. Read the SRP Terms of Reference – PDF 125KB.
This new framework is the latest in a string of sustainability and ESG inspired moves from our business. We have held gold status in the SHIFT sustainable housing accreditation since 2012 and were part of the group of early adopters of the ‘Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing’. In November 2020, we became the first company in Europe to receive the highest accreditation mark across all three categories in the ‘Certified Sustainable Housing Label’ from German consultancy RITTERWALD.
