Minibuses are also used to help members visit the doctor, the Council or the bank.

Outings & celebrations

We run regular outings in our minibuses including visits to the cinema and theatre. Seaside resorts such as Southend and Brighton are favourites during the summer.

For the more adventurous we offer holidays abroad. These have included trips to Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, France, Tunisia and Morocco.

These holidays are great fun and help to bring users of different services together. They are especially important for elderly members who live alone. Members pay for their own trip but we always manage to find a bargain!

Celebrating difference

There is always an excuse for a party at one of our day centres, with so many birthdays and grandchildren being born. We also celebrate multi-cultural and religious festivals, including Baisakhi, Diwali, Eid and Christmas.

Food and drink is prepared to respect religious beliefs and practices so that no one is excluded. This is an important part of our philosophy of honouring and welcoming different traditions and cultures.

Our staff are also from nay different religious and social backgrounds which has encouraged a very wide membership.
