Princess Diana

Our history

Southall Day Centre was set up by the local community group SCOPE in 1978. It began in temporary premises and in 1980 moved to our building on Western Road, provided by Catalyst Communities Housing Association. In 1991 the Day Centre became independent and in 1993 it achieved charitable status.

In 1998 Southall Day Centre took over the management of Milap Day Centre after many years of working closely together. Milap was assimilated into Southall Day Centre in 2000.

Visitors over the past 21 years have included Prince Charles who attended the original opening in 1978, and Princess Diana who opened the newly-refurbished centre in 1991.
