Neighbourhood and community

Here’s what the national standard tells us we must do:

We must keep the common areas of the homes we own clean and safe. We must partner with other public agencies to promote social, environmental and economic wellbeing in your neighbourhoods and tackle antisocial behaviour.

The offers – after listening to you this is what we are doing to meet this standard

  • We will give excellent customer service when responding to reports of anti-social behaviour
  • We will help you to:

a) set up residents’ groups, panels or neighbourhood watch to work in partnership with us

b) find solutions to local problems such as fly-tipping, parking issues and bulky refuse

c) promote social behaviour

d) monitor the standard of the service we provide in your neighbourhood or estate

  • We will work with you and other agencies to:

a) promote social behaviour in communities and neighbourhoods

b) let you know your responsibilities regarding noise and other issues

  • We will ask you to help scrutinise our local offers by monitoring services we provide in your estate. We will ask you to prioritise and decide improvements to your estate
  • We will remove graffiti quickly when reported or discovered – within 24 hours if it is offensive and within a week otherwise
  • We will provide salt boxes in winter to help you keep walkways clear of snow and ice. We will grit estates when necessary
  • We will involve you, through residents’ groups, in decisions about services we provide on your estate, such as what you need doing and how often you would like us to inspect your estate
  • We will inspect your estate every three months, more often if is a large estate, according to your preference. We will invite you to take part in inspections
