Catalyst Gateway work with partners to put on fantastic free and low-cost activities during the summer in the communities where we work for young people and families.

Where: All centres across west London
When: Throughout August
Our west London community centres will be running a range of activities including arts and crafts, workshops and trips. To round off the summer, there will be a big celebration day in August with all our west London centres.
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. We will email you to confirm that a space has been reserved for you at requested workshops. Where a session isn’t showing on the form, it may be fully booked.

When: 30 July to 24 August 2018; Monday to Thursday from 9.30am to 3pm each day
Children aged 8 to15 can get involved in a range of activities and workshops provided by us and our partners. New to the programme this year, we’ll be offering an Olympics day with Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea. There will be a small cost per week for a child to join our summer programme – this includes a hot and healthy lunch cooked on site, made possible by the London Mayor’s Fund.
The Brent showcase ﬁnale will take place on Friday 24 August where the children will present the skills they’ve learned to parents and carers.

Where: All activities are hosted at the Weller Centre, 110 Amersham Road, Lower Caversham, Reading RG4 5NA
When: Every Tuesday in August 11am-12pm for ages 8-16
Free basketball sessions hosted by a Reading Rockets coach in the ball court building on the skills learned from school clubs.
Youth cinema club
When: Every Thursday 12pm-3pm for ages 10+
A Reading-based visual art and film production organisation and youth mentorship programme will host a series of 6 sessions for young people. There will be a variety of visual art activities including film making, animation, interviews, editing and photography. Young people will assist hosting a pop-up cinema at the Weller Centre. Attendees must pay £5 to reserve their space – lunch is provided.
When: Every Thursday 1:30pm-3pm for all ages
There will be a feature length film selected by the Youth Cinema Club and played each week. Kids go free and can bring their own snacks. There will also be squash and popcorn sold for £1 per child.
Friday Fun Day
When: Ever Friday 12pm-3pm for ages 8+
There will be a series of youth mentoring programmes running available for six weeks. Kids can join in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including boxing, cycling, crafts, and more. Please note that lunch is provided.

Where: Fry Hill Park, Greater Leys

Dovecote summer playscheme
Where: The Dovecote, Greater Leys, Nightingale Avenue OX4 7BU
When: Monday 30 July – Thursday 23 August, 10am-3pm
Activities, games and sessions will be running for children aged 4 to 12. You can either sign up for the first 2 weeks or the last 2 weeks of the playscheme. Please note, lunch is not provided so each child will need to bring a packed lunch.

Leys CDI Summer Holiday Scheme
Where: Blackbird Leys Community Centre, Oxford OX4 6HW
When: Monday 30 July – Friday 24 August, 10am-4pm
Kids can take part in mulitsports, creative art workshops, music and film workshops, poetry, kids café, tech workshops and day trips.
Cost: £2 per child, per day

Summer activities for over 50s at the Clockhouse
We have lots of events running across the summer for over 50s from Tai Chi, to Knit and Natter crafts group. Residents from the Blackbird and Greater Leys area can join us every Monday for our Games Social with a light sandwich lunch from 1.30pm-3.30pm. There will be board games, Boccia (indoor bowls), table tennis and lots of chat, at a cost of just £1 per person. We will also be running a special cream tea on Wednesday 15 August from 2-4pm – donations welcome.
