Resident involvment strategy:

We want to fully involve our residents and ensure that the structures and opportunities are in place to support effective and meaningful scrutiny of our services. We aim to support and empower our residents to help us to improve our services and create strong accountability within a framework of co-regulation and localism.

Our resident involvement strategy has ten key objectives:

  1. To develop the central strategic role of the Catalyst Residents Federation to provide a community led scrutiny of decisions and service provision
  2. To support Local Boards in developing specific local involvement activities to scrutinise, audit and test service delivery against local ‘offers’
  3. To widen resident involvement by increasing the numbers and diversity of residents involved
  4. To involve residents in a greater level of engagement, and to develop more involved and empowered residents across Catalyst Housing
  5. To create a single database of residents who are involved in their communities – to enable greater information sharing and better monitoring of resident involvement
  6. To fully embed resident involvement and positive customer engagement within our organisational culture by working to foster an effective ‘engagement culture’
  7. To use a range of formal and informal methods to involve residents according to their needs and abilities and create accessible involvement opportunities for all
  8. To develop: a programme of training tailored to increase residents’ capacity to analyse and scrutinise our services; a system of coaching and mentoring to sustain and embed residents’ learning
  9. To ensure residents receive high quality information about issues relating to their scrutiny role
  10. To recognise and reward the commitment of residents who make an active contribution towards their communities
