Local groups and resident associations

Join a local group and make sure your views are heard

Become a resident rep on your local board

Active resident board members are a vital voice for local residents – representing their views on a range of issues such as repairs, contracts and estate services. Help to represent your community by joining your local board. We offer free training to anyone interested in becoming a local board member

Join a residents’ forum, group or association

Why not help to improve your community by joining a local residents’ group. These groups work with us, and other local service providers, to represent the views of their local areas. Residents’ groups can:

  • Champion the needs of your area
  • Provide feedback on our services
  • Act as a point of contact between the group and Catalyst
  • Keep residents up to date about issues affecting their area
  • Attend estate inspections with neighbourhood managers
  • If you get involved with a local group you can also learn valuable skills such as running meetings, project management and report writing. Find out more about our free training for residents

Join our young adults’ forum

Successful Futures works with young people in our local communities – supporting them to help improve our services and tackle youth issues. If you are between 17-25 years old why not join us and help to change things in your area.

As part of our drive to reduce anti-social behaviour and prevent crime, Successful Futures is now arranging prison visits to show you what life is really like behind bars. Find out more by contacting Michael Simms michael.simms@chg.org.uk or call 020 8832 3111.

Become a block representative

As a block rep you will be a formal link between a group of residents and Catalyst. You can represent a local block of flats, a street or a community group.  You will get to know your neighbours and find out what they think could be done to improve services or change things in your area. We offer free training for anyone who would like to be a block rep – find out more.

Join an estate inspection or estate surgery

These give you the chance to walk around your area with your neighbourhood manager and check on any issues or maintenance needs. We will let you know in advance when these visits will take place – or check our inspection schedules. We offer free training if you are interested in becoming a resident inspector – find out more.

Come to one of our special events

We hold events in each local area where we want to meet as many of you as possible. These might be informal ‘meet your neighbour groups’, workshops or other events. We’ll let you know when and where these are happening near you. You can also check our events calendar – use the link on the right-hand side of this page.

Join a residents’ panel

Get together with a group of residents and give us your views on specific services such as repairs and maintenance, complaints and local service agreements. We offer free training for anyone who is interested in helping to improve our services – find out more,
