Aids and adaptations
These are alterations that help you move around your home more easily if you have a disability
Aids and adaptations can range from simple things like grab rails to help you get out of the bath, to major fittings such as stair lifts.
During 2010/2011, Catalyst and its partner councils spent £191,833 installing aids and adaptations in Catalyst homes.
What should I do if I need help?
If you need your home to be adapted, please call us, your council or GP. An occupational therapist will then visit you in your home to understand what you need.
The occupational therapist will tell us what adaptations you need. We can carry out and pay for any simple aids and adaptations. If the work is more complicated and expensive the occupational therapist can help you to apply for a disabled facilities grant to pay for it.
