Here is the experience of Shaheen, a member of the Brent Catalyst Residents’ Forum.
For resident Shaheen Sheikh, the chance to learn a lifelong skill in first aid got her involved in Catalyst.
She is now a member of the Brent Catalyst Residents’ Forum and wants other residents to do the same.
“When I came to meetings years ago, nothing was getting done so I
stopped coming. It was only recently when Wendy (Catalyst’s Resident Involvement Officer) sent out all the leaflets for the different courses that I thought I’d like to do one on first aid. That drew me back into the forum.
“It’s nice to be involved because now we can see there is a lot of progress being made. My message to residents is to come along and see what we’re doing. We do get listened to and if we work together we’ll get more results.”
