Saving energy reduces your fuel bills. It also helps the environment. The average household can save up to £300 a year by using less energy.
Top tips
- Draw your curtains at night
- Don’t leave the tap running
- Have showers instead of baths
- Don’t fill the kettle to the top unless you need to
- Don’t leave your TV or other devices on standby
- Turn your thermostat down
- Wash clothes with a full load and a low temperature
- Use energy saving light bulbs and turn lights off
- Recycle your rubbish
- Move furniture away from radiators so the heat can flow
- Insulate hot water pipes
